Too good to be true

So, maybe just one from time to time, not to compete with my friend Bruce (…), I have here no chance, but to prevent too much loss in the ability to communicate in the international and in Greece well spread language: the f.T.E. (f… Tourist English, replace the “f” with “friendly” if you are a positive person, and by whatever you think in all other cases).

“So, happy writer, how’s the life on the Pelops?”

Nice, very nice, more than that … the people: everywhere friendly and smiling. Two examples: the lady owning the beautiful Camping Site Aginara Beach, probably over 70 years old, the lady with a “heart of titane” from the last post: she opened her private garden to us to pick some absolutely delicious “nèfles japonais”, that are the highlight of our breakfast since that, and the next day she stopped us at the camping gate to give us a jar of homemade cumquat marmelade … didn’t know that titane was such a soft metal …

Another exemple: we helped a Greek mobile home to park in a very nice spot next to us, with a great view und good shadow from the trees. Valenia and Nikos, in their forties, from Athens, hardcore camper with a nice furbished Ducati Roller Team. Since that time, we spent two evenings drinking and discussing with them, and with their great knowledge of the Pelops, they gave us hundreds of good advises, not only for all the old stones to look at, but mostly about the scenic landscapes and the best taverns to give a shot.

Speaking of taverns, we went biking yesterday, in a National Park and forest, 25km on rented bikes and forest roads.

(Comments about the helmet are being prosecuted)

27 degrees in the air, cows, bull (!), tortoises, a very friendly dog and one jackal, and a great big huge hunger after that.

Seimeo Strofilia Food and Wine, a tip from Valenia and Nikos. A 1 hour ago fished fish … no further comment …

So, after now 4 nights in Aginara Beach, it’s time to move to Olympia, to dive into the past history, when the Olympic was not only a business for Coca-Cola and Samsung.

Stay tuned … maybe with a technology a bit in better shape as this :

E.T. Home ?
